Pilot Plant & Prototype Production

AAMIRAV is equipped with a wide range of pilot plant scale facilities for product development trials, product formulation optimization, screening of alternate raw materials, storage stability studies, testing of innovations/new developments, process optimization, etc.

The range of pilot plant equipment available covers a range of applications such as detergent powders, bars & liquids, soaps, cosmetic liquids, gels & creams, lotions, hard surface cleaning powders, liquids & pastes, etc.

These facilities are operated by a skilled personnel and are backed by a well equipped Analytical Laboratory. AAMIRAV can also provide technical expertise through its team of experts to clients in analysing pilot plant results, making recommendations on process & product optimization and advising on plant & process scale-up protocols.

Some of the pilot plant facilities available: Silverson-type emulsifier, hand stamper, 10 lit. capacity Sigma mixer, Ribbon blender, agitated vessels, blender, plodders, ball mills, grinders, etc.


Semi-production scale equipment, as listed below, is also available for pilot plant work. Our well –equipped Analytical Laboratory is equipped with:

  • Microwave/Convection ovens, Muffle furnaces, Karl Fischer moisture apparatus, constant temperature water bath, auto titrator, humidity chambers, turbidity apparatus, hot water generators, hard water generator , Analytical balances, Spectrophotometer, pH meter, Conductivity meter, distilled water unit, flocculator, Brookefield viscometer, test particle sieves, etc.

  • In addition we have large size equipment/facilities of semi-commercial and commercial production scale for test production, market research samples production and instant start-up requirements.

  • Single screw plodders, Single screw duplex plodders (with intermediate vacuum chamber), screw dia. 75mm.

  • Single screw plodder, screw dia. 100mm.

  • Sigma mixers – batch size 10kgs. & 25 kgs cap., Planetary mixer with stirrer

  • Stainless steel batch vessels (jacketed with stirrer)– 500 lit., 3000 lit. capacity.

  • High speed propeller type, twin stage agitator

  • Manually operated bar soap cutters.

  • Tube sealing machine

  • SS Plate filter complete with gear pump

  • Chilled water plant

  • Ribbon blenders

  • Triple roll mills with roll heating/cooling facilities

This is not an exhaustive list of pilot plant, semi-commercial scale and commercial scale facilities available at AAMIRAV, but only indicative of the range and type of facilities available.

Having readily available facilities right from pilot plant to full scale production available on a single site makes scale up and start-up production easy and free from complexity. Making of prototypes for market research, seeding the market, start-up production to gauge consumer response, etc. becomes easy, convenient and inexpensive.

AAMIRAV is also in a position to obtain pilot plant equipment (if not available) to suit client’s requirement either on an outright purchase basis or on a job-work basis.
